
NRV EXPERIENCE
The NRV Experience is a series of community engagement, professional development, and networking opportunities for summer interns in Virginia’s New River Valley. These events connect collegians with one another while showcasing the array of cultural, recreational, and outdoor amenities offered throughout the NRV. Students have a chance to meet peers, improve professionalism, and most importantly, experience the NRV.

EXPLORE THE REGION
Every week interns will have the opportunity to explore each community in the NRV through an excursion hosted by the county or city tourism department. These excursions will shows interns a glimpse of what it is like to live here as a young professional.

NETWORK
Networking opportunties will take place during the entire summer experience. However the Kick-Off and Wrap-Up events are specific occasions where interns will get a chance to connect with their peers and other companies.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
During the Kick-Off event, interns will hear from industry professionals on what is expected from them as professionals as well as training on how to develop their soft skills. Professional dress, email etiquette, workplace communication, and more will be covered.
